Associate Professor Loong Wong

My research interests are diverse, traversing the fields of security, development, governance, business systems and practice, culture and international relations. I am particularly interested in understanding the evolving nature of business practices and systems under conditions of globalisation. I have written extensively on issues of corporate governance, entrepreneurship, state-economy relations in the Asia-pacific region, e-commerce practices and social movements in the region. Of late, I have been working and researching on China, Chinese investment overseas (and in Australia).  Loong has published widely, including the Journal of Contemporary Asia, Corporate Social Responsibility, The Peace Review, Prometheus, Southeast Asian Journal of Social science and International Financial Review

I am interested in supervising postgraduate students researching business and management systems and practices in the Asia-Pacific; corporate social responsibility in the Asia-Pacific region; corporate governance in East and Southeast Asia; e-commerce and the power of the web in effecting social change; and social and political change in Malaysia.
