Dr Carolyn Brewer
Carolyn is a co-editor, and the webmanager, of Intersections: Gender, History and Culture in the Asian Context, a refereed electronic journal conceived as an interactive forum for new research and teaching in the area of Gender Studies in the Asian region. Her areas of research interest are: gender, sexuality and religion in the Philippines; the history of the Catholicisation of the Philippines; construction of gender in Asian societies; and the impact of religion on women's lives. Her book, Holy Confrontation: Religion, Gender and Sexuality in the Philippines, 1521-1685, was published in 2001.
