Associate Professor David Brown

Associate Professor David Brown works on the comparative politics of ethnicity and nationalism. He has taught at Ahmadu Bello University Nigeria, Birmingham University UK, and the National University of Singapore, before coming to the School of Politics and International Studies at Murdoch University. He has several publications on Southeast Asian politics including The State and Ethnic Politics (Routledge London/ New York, 1994). His latest book, Contemporary Nationalism (Routledge, London/ New York 2000) develops a model of nationalist politics, which is illustrated in part through Southeast Asian case studies.
