Dr Yingchi Chu

Dr Yingchi Chu is Chair of Chinese Studies at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. She teaches both in Media Studies and in the Chinese Programme. Her research field is Chinese and Asian cinema. Dr Chu is the author of Hong Kong Cinema: Colonizer, Motherland and Self (RoutledgeCurzon 2003). She has also contributed chapters to Media in China (ed. S. Donald and M. Kean, 2002) and Political Communications in Greater China (ed. Rawnsley and Rawnsley, 2002). Dr Chu maintains research links with a number of Chinese research institutions. Her current research focuses on documentary film and the composition of a book provisionally entitled Documentary Cinema in China.
