Dr Cherian George

PhD(Stanford)

Cherian George is an assistant professor at the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He writes media and politics, especially in Singapore and Southeast Asia. His PhD (Stanford) was on media activism on the internet. His second book Contentious Journalism and the Internet: Democratizing Discourse in Malaysia and Singapore will be published by Singapore University Press and MIT Press in Spring 2005. His first book, Singapore: The Air-Conditioned Nation. Essays on the Politics of Comfort and Control was published in 2000 by Landmark Books.
