Dr Lance Gore

Dr Gore researches and teaches in the area of Chinese politics, Chinese foreign policy, international political economy, international relations in the Asia-Pacific. His book Market Communism: The Institutional Foundations of China's Post-Mao Hyper-Growth was published by Oxford University Press. His current and on-going research projects include the implications of market development for political change in China, the role of non-economic motives in economic development in East Asia, bureaucratic entrepreneurs and the statist market system, the state's role in market transition in China, Chinese domestic investment, and interdisciplinary methods of institutional analysis.
