Dr Vedi HadizBA (Uni. of Indonesia), PhD (Murd) Associate Professor Vedi Hadiz is a political sociologist with interests mainly in issues of social, political, and economic change in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, as well as in broader political economy and development questions. He received his PhD in 1996 at Murdoch University Australia, where he was Research Fellow at the Asia Research Centre before joining NUS in 2000. His publications include Workers and the State in New Order Indonesia (Routledge, 1997 (Indonesian language version,Gramedia, forthcoming 2005) Reorganising Power in Indonesia: The Politics of Oligarchy in an Age of Markets (co-author with Richard Robison), (RoutledgeCurzon, 2004), Indonesian Politics and Society: A Reader (edited with David Bourchier), (RoutledgeCurzon, 2003) Social Science and Power in Indonesia (edited with Daniel Dhakidae), (Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and Equinox Publishing, 2005) and the forthcoming Empire and Neoliberalism in Asia (ed.)(Routledge), as well as numerous journal articles.
