Dr Kazuhiro Harada

PhD (Tokyo)

Dr. Kazuhiro Harada, a researcher with the Forest Conservation Project in the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in Kanagawa, Japan, joined the Asia Research Centre in July 2005 as a Visiting Fellow for the coming year. His work for JICA involved the planning of participatory forest management programs, the development and implementation of environmental education materials, and training of rangers and educators involved in the national park. Dr. Harada is the author of a number of articles and reports on forestry policy and the management of national parks in Indonesia, including a contribution to People and Forest Policy in Southeast Asia, the Russian Far East, and Japan, published by Kluwer.
