Professor David HillBA, PhD (ANU) David Hill is Professor of Southeast Asian Studies in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Murdoch University. His recent books, co-authored with Professor Krishna Sen, include The Internet in Indonesia's New Democracy (Routledge, London, 2005) and Media, Culture and Politics in Indonesia (OUP, Melbourne, 2000; Equinox, Jakarta, 2007), which appeared in Indonesian as Media, Budaya dan Politik di Indonesia (ISAI & Media Lintas Inti Nusantara, Jakarta, 2001). His monograph, The Press in New Order Indonesia, was published by UWA Press in the Centre's Asia Papers series in December 1994, with reprints by Pustaka Sinar Harapan in Jakarta in 1995 and Equinox, Jakarta, 2007. In addition, he is Director of the Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS), an international consortium of 20 universities which assists foreign students to study in Indonesian universities, and is accredited as a Professional (Level 3) English/Indonesian Interpreter and Translator by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), Canberra. In 2006 he was a Visiting SeniorFellow in the Asia Research Institute of the National University of Singapore.
