Professor Beverley Hooper

Professor Hooper lectures on contemporary Chinese society and culture and carries out research on consumerism, gender and globalisation in contemporary China. Professor Hooper, whose major publications include Youth in China (1985), China stands up: Ending the Western presence (1986), and China's Quiet Revolution (1994), is a Past President of the Asian Studies Association of Australia and is a member of the Editorial Board of the China Journal and Asian Studies Review.
