Dr Michael Pinches

Michael Pinches is a specialist on contemporary Philippine society. He holds the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, University of Western Australia, was formerly the president of the Philippine Studies Association of Australia, and is a member of the editorial board of Anthropological Forum. His recently edited the book Culture and Privilege in Capitalist Asia (1999), in the Centre's New Rich Series, and has published widely on matters concerning social change in the Philippines.
