Dr Jonathan Unger

Jonathan Unger is a sociologist specialising on China's ongoing social change. He has published fourteen books and numerous papers, dealing with education and Chinese student attitudes, with village life and rural transformation, with the underpinnings of Chinese political dissidence, and with China's political economy. He is head of the Australian National University's Contemporary China Centre and co-editor of The China Journal.
