Associate Professor Carol Warren

Carol Warren is a sociologist and anthropologist whose research has focused on social and economic change in Malaysia and Indonesia. She has written several articles and monographs on environment and community development in these countries, including Adat and Dinas: Balinese Communities in the Indonesian State, published by Oxford University Press, and The Politics of Environment in Southeast Asia, coedited with Phil Hirsch and published by Routledge. Her research interests include issues related to the environment, land tenure and rural development policy in Southeast Asia. She currently holds an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant in collaboration with scholars at other institutions for a project entitled: 'Locating the Commonweal: Community, Environment and Local Governance Regimes in Indonesia.'
